Day 9

Wow! How is tonight already the last night? It seems this trip has absolutely flown! Today we woke up to enjoy a day in Tel Aviv! Our first stop was it Rabin Square, to see the site where Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. We had previously visited his grave at Har Hertzl. We then took the bus over to the city of Jaffa, which was very cool! Then came Independence Hall, for a lesson on how Israel came to be. We then got free to walk around Shenkin Street for shopping and lunch. The day still was not over! everyone got time to lounge at the beach an hop in the Mediterranean for a swim. Tonight we will celebrate our last night in Israel with a night on the town! This truly will be a great night!

Day 6-8

Sorry for the delay….

Wow! The past 48 hours have been amazing for this group! Yesterday we woke up at 4am to ascend Masada and see sunrise. It was a breathtaking and once in a lifetime moment for all. After a tour of the top of the mountain, we made our way down to the bottom via snake path. After a quick breakfast the group did a short nature hike in the Negev. Next was what everyone had been waiting for, the Dead Sea. People were blown away to find out they really did float! We then made our way to the Bedoin Tent for a night in the desert! We ate the delicious hospitality meal before a night of bonfires and star gazing!

We woke up the next morning to do our last hike, which was in a crater! The view was amazing! After the hike, we managed build up quite an appetite.   We went to our green activity. While there we got to try organic tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and more! Hands down, everyone agreed this was some of the best produce we ver had! Next was the sad moment everyone had been dreading, time to say goodbye to our new Israeli friends. After an emotional goodbye, they were off. We then made our way to our hotel in Tel Aviv. It’s so hard to believe we’ve made it to our last stop on the trip!

Day 5

Spending Shabbos in Jerusalem is a truly remarkable experience. Today
the group got to sleep in, before taking a leisurely walking tour of
the city. On the tour we played a few games, including the favorite
“bird on a perch.” We returned to the hotel for lunch and some leisure
time before a group discussion about what being Jewish means to you.
Following this some of the girls chose to have Bat Mizvahs in a casual
unofficial ceremony. After the celebration we had dinner and a short
Havdallah service. It truly has been a relaxing and self reflecting
day. Shabbat fell at the half way point of our trip, perfectly set in
the middle of out 10 day journey.

Day 4

There is truly is nothing like being in Jerusalem on Friday! This
city’s energy truly is amazing as Shabbat approaches. The day started
with the group being introduced to their new Israelli peers (Mifgash). Everyone
loved getting the opportunity to talk with someone about what its like
to grow up in Israel. We then made our way to The Kotel (AKA The Western Wall), and got to tour the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem. There were so many of us who
truly connected to something inside while being there. Before Shabbat
began we made one final stop to machane yedhuda (market place) for
some wonderful goodies! Can’t wait for Shabbat to finally arrive!

Good Shabbos,
